The short version: myHata relays public civic data to you as-is. It's a convenience, not an official channel — for emergencies rely on 911 and your device's built-in emergency alerts.
Effective date: July 5, 2026 · Last updated: July 5, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and myHata (“myHata”, “we”, “us”), an independent app based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. By using the myHata app or this website (together, the “Service”) you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
myHata is an informational service for Winnipeg homeowners. You choose an address; myHata aggregates publicly available civic data about that address and its neighbourhood — collection schedules, snow operations, permits, 311 requests, emergency calls, police reports, utility outages, air quality and emergency alerts — and shows it in the app or sends it as notifications.
The information in myHata comes from third-party public sources, including the City of Winnipeg (its open data portal and news releases), the Winnipeg Police Service, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, Manitoba Hydro's public outage map, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, Environment and Climate Change Canada, the Alert Ready system, and Apple Maps (for nearby facilities and drive times). myHata is not affiliated with, operated by, or endorsed by any of these organizations.
All information is provided “as is” and “as available”. Public feeds can be delayed, incomplete, revised or wrong, and can change or disappear without notice. We do not warrant the accuracy, timeliness or completeness of any information in the Service, and individual data sources may be unavailable or discontinued at any time.
Before making a decision with legal, financial, property, safety or operational consequences — including parking during a snow ban, paying taxes, applying for credits, responding to permits, outages, police or fire information, or following emergency instructions — verify the information with the official source.
Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Winnipeg. Data source for air quality: Environment and Climate Change Canada.
Emergency alert notifications (severe weather, AMBER alerts, civil emergencies, air quality, floods) are sourced from alerts issued by authorized Canadian government emergency management organizations via the Alert Ready / National Alert Aggregation and Dissemination (NAAD) system, operated by Pelmorex Corp. myHata is not an official Alert Ready distributor. Alerts are relayed as-is; their accuracy and timeliness are not guaranteed by myHata or Pelmorex. Always keep your device's built-in wireless emergency alerts enabled as your primary source, and follow instructions from local authorities.
Emergency-department and urgent-care wait times shown in myHata are estimates published by the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and may be out of date. Nothing in the Service is medical advice, and the Service must not be used to decide whether or where to seek emergency care. In an emergency, call 911.
myHata does not provide legal, tax, financial, insurance, medical, security, property or emergency-management advice. Reminders, estimates, summaries and links are informational only and are not a substitute for official records, professional advice or instructions from public authorities.
Notifications depend on public data feeds, our servers, Apple's push infrastructure and your device settings. A notification may arrive late or not at all. Do not rely on myHata as your only reminder for anything with legal, financial or safety consequences (parking bans, tax deadlines, emergencies).
The Service may link to or open third-party websites and services, including Apple Maps, City of Winnipeg pages, Manitoba Hydro, WRHA, Winnipeg Police Service, Alert Ready / Pelmorex and Environment and Climate Change Canada. Those services are not controlled by myHata and may have their own terms, privacy policies and availability limits.
If you use myHata through TestFlight, early access or another pre-release channel, the Service may be incomplete, experimental or changed without notice. Data may be reset, and features or notifications may be added, removed or disabled before public release.
Don't misuse the Service: no attempting to disrupt it, probe or overload our servers, scrape or resell the Service's data feeds, or use the Service for anything unlawful.
You may use the Service only if you are at least 13 years old and have the legal capacity to agree to these terms. If you use the Service for a home you do not own or occupy, you are responsible for making sure you have an appropriate reason to monitor that address.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties or conditions of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability or non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, myHata and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or any loss or damage arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service, or from reliance on any information in it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the last 12 months and CAD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service (including individual data sources) at any time. We may also remove, correct or stop displaying data where we believe it is inaccurate, unavailable, legally risky or no longer useful. We may update these terms; the current version always lives at this page, with the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the applicable laws of Canada. Any dispute will be brought in the courts of Manitoba.
